Hair loss

Hair loss, also called alopecia, is a disorder caused by an interruption in the body’s cycle of hair production. Hair loss can occur anywhere on the body, but most commonly affects the scalp. On average, the scalp has 100,000 to 140,000 hairs that cycle through periods of growing, resting, falling out, and regenerating.

A hair growth cycle consists of three phases. During the anagen phase, hair grows actively. This phase may last for years. During the catagen phase, hair stops growing and separates from its follicle, which is the structure beneath the skin that holds the hair in place. The catagen phase lasts about 10 days. During the telogen phase, the follicle rests for two or three months, and then the hair falls out. The next anagen phase begins as a new hair grows in the same follicle. Most people lose 50 to 100 hairs per day as part of this natural cycle.

If this cycle is disrupted, or if a hair follicle is damaged, hair may begin to fall out more quickly than it is regenerated, leading to symptoms such as a receding hairline, hair falling out in patches, or overall thinning.

Hair loss may be linked to a person’s genetics, although many medical and behavioural conditions may interrupt the growth cycle and cause hair loss.

Types of Hair loss

Androgenetic Alopecia

Androgenetic alopecia is the most common type of hair loss, commonly known as male pattern hair loss or female pattern hair loss, androgenetic alopecia is hereditary but can be managed with PRP treatment for hair restoration and Assure Hair transplant for surgical hair replacement.

Male Pattern Hair Loss

In men, hair loss can begin any time after puberty and progress over the course of years or decades. It starts above the temples oftenly and continues around the perimeter and the top of the head, leaving the sides and back hair. Many men with male pattern hair loss eventually become bald.

Female Pattern Hair Loss

In women, hair slowly thins all over the scalp, but the hairline usually doesn’t recede. Many women experience this type of hair loss as a natural part of aging, although hair loss may begin any time after puberty. Female pattern hair loss can cause hair to thin dramatically, but only rarely does it lead to baldness.

History of Hair Transplant

Artificial Masking of Natural Hair

Throughout history, hair loss has been a prevalent issue for both men and women. Hair loss is a natural process that occurs in every 2 out of 3 men and 1 out of 5 women. In general, 60% of men are genetically programmed to lose hair while women lose hair mainly due to hormonal changes. In the past, people tried to compensate for hair loss by masking the changes. They used elaborate wigs, toupees or other hair systems that were glued to or woven into their hair to hide the obvious loss. These methods were only temporary and were often a great source of embarrassment to the person using them.

Preliminary Surgical Methods

About seventy years ago, in the late 1940s, the first hair transplant technique was discovered. The “punch method” moved large groups of hairs from the back of the head (where there is hair genetically programmed to produce hair for the entire lifetime) to the areas of the top and front which required hair. However, the punch method resulted in poor survival of the transplanted hair, painful damage to the nerves or arteries supplying blood to the scalp. There was also obvious scarring in the area from where hair was removed or replaced and a very noticeable “pluggy” appearance. Punch grafting should be completely obsolete. This cornrow approach caused as much harm as it did good and the final results were aesthetically questionable. Other methods to avoid are scalp reductions and flaps. Both of these methods involve cutting and removing sections of the scalp resulting in painful, disfiguring scars. There has also been nerve damage reported by patients subjected to these methods. While fewer surgeons use these methods they are actually recommended by some. Our advice is simple whether you use our services or not. Avoid them. You are better off not having any procedure than one which can scar you physically and emotionally.

FUE VS FUT

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) are two different hair transplant techniques. While both techniques involve transplanting hair follicles from one area of the scalp to another, there are some key differences between the two methods.

FUE is generally considered to be a better option than FUT for a number of reasons:

  1. Scarless: FUE does not leave a linear scar like FUT does. Instead, small, circular scars are left at the site of extraction, which are less visible and easier to hide.
  2. Minimally Invasive: FUE is a minimally invasive procedure, meaning that it involves less cutting and trauma to the scalp. This can result in less discomfort and a faster recovery time.
  3. Natural-Looking Results: FUE allows for a more precise extraction of individual hair follicles, which can be transplanted in a more natural-looking pattern. This can result in a more natural-looking head of hair.
  4. Versatile: FUE can be used to transplant hair to any area of the scalp, including the hairline and temples. This is not always possible with FUT, which is better suited to transplanting hair to the top of the head.
  5. Better for Women: FUE is often a better option for women who are experiencing hair loss because it allows for a more targeted approach to hair transplantation.

Overall, FUE is a more advanced and modern hair transplantation technique that can offer superior results and a faster recovery time compared to FUT.

Assure UHDHT Method

Assure Ultra High-Density Hair Transplant method itself is a major innovation in the hair transplantation industry. A technique that, ideally, involves extracting each follicle from the donor site, UHDHT is the first hair restoration method with no scarring. Hair transplantation before the method involved heavy scarring and long recovery times -Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Scalp Reduction both fit within this category. Such techniques bring paltry results as well. FUT and other older techniques lead to doll-like hair and unnatural appearing hairlines which is been replaced by the UHDHT method is now in India to achieve the most natural looking growth aspects with simultaneous implant techniques.

The biggest disadvantages of regular FUE performed by most of the local clinics naming different names and calling themselves international clinics are the biggest gimmicks in the market whereas knowing the fact that the first plastic surgery in the world was performed in India and the renowned Indian organizations bring in the most efficient techniques and procedures to achieve optimum results.

DSHI Implantation Technique

The Future of Hair Transplantation

At Assure Clinic, we pride ourselves on offering the most advanced hair restoration techniques available. The DSHI (Direct Simultaneous Hair Implantation) technique is an innovative and minimally invasive hair transplantation method that delivers natural, undetectable results with minimal recovery time. Discover how the DSHI implantation technique can revolutionize your hair restoration journey.

What is the DSHI Implantation Technique?

The DSHI implantation technique is a cutting-edge method in hair transplantation, combining the extraction and implantation processes simultaneously. This approach reduces the time hair follicles are exposed to the external environment, ensuring higher graft survival rates and better overall outcomes. The DSHI technique is performed using specialized instruments, allowing our Hair Transplant doctors to work with precision and provide natural-looking results.

Benefits of the DSHI Implantation Technique

1. Minimally Invasive: The DSHI technique requires smaller incisions compared to traditional hair transplantation methods, resulting in reduced scarring and quicker recovery times.

2. Increased Graft Survival: By minimizing the time hair follicles are exposed to the external environment, the DSHI implantation technique ensures higher graft survival rates and improved hair growth.

3. Faster Procedure: The simultaneous extraction and implantation process in DSHI reduces the overall procedure time, providing a more efficient and comfortable experience for the patient.

4. Natural, Undetectable Results: Our skilled Hair Transplant doctors utilize the DSHI technique to provide natural-looking, virtually undetectable hair restoration results, tailored to your individual needs.
