Home – New › Forums › Hair Transplant › What is the recovery time after a hair transplant?
Recovery time following a hair transplant surgery is based on the method applied and personal healing ability. Patients usually expect the initial healing period to take around 7 to 10 days.
During the first few days following surgery, the scalp is likely to feel tender, swollen, or itchy. Around implanted hair follicles, very small scabs develop and normally shed within a week to ten days. It is important to take hair transplant post care seriously during this period in order to prevent infection or damage.
The majority of patients can resume normal daily activities, such as work, within 2 to 3 days following a minimally invasive FUE hair transplant or DSHI treatment. Heavy sweating and strenuous physical activities must be avoided for at least two weeks.
Full recovery, along with the fading away of redness and complete recovery of the scalp, usually occurs in 2 to 4 weeks. The finest hair transplant centres in India, such as Mumbai and Bangalore, follow careful post-operative instructions to help the patient recover smoothly and achieve the best results.
Adherence to prescribed hair transplant aftercare procedures is important to reduce side effects and support healthy graft growth.
